About

"Blending unique sounds to create emotional depth, eager to bring ideas to life."

Dougal KEMP is a composer with a passion for film music, dedicated to sound creation. Trained at the CNSMD of Lyon in composition, orchestration and electronic music as well as at the Lyon 2 University, he has distinguished himself by winning several international awards during his degrees.

His style is characterised by hybrid music, blending electronic and acoustic elements to offer unique sounds for each project. Dougal KEMP enjoys rich and colourful textures, using analog synthesizers and sounds from the nature. His collaborative approach is essential: he takes the time to communicate and build a relationship of trust with his partners, in order to compose emotional and warm works that truly resonates with their vision.

Over the years, Dougal KEMP has had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned composers such as Amine BOUHAFA, Anne-Sophie VERSAEYEN and Marc TOMASI, enriching his musical approach. He has participated in numerous projects, ranging from short films to documentaries, including one broadcast on France 2 in 2024, "Clarisse AGBEGNENOU, L'Olympe Pour Athéna."

Dougal enjoys exploring a wide range of artistic expressions, also working on mapping, dance, and theatre projects.

In 2023, he established his own studio, a place dedicated to composition, recording and mixing, where he brings his personal projects to life, including the preparation of several EPs and albums to be released in the coming months.

Dynamic, determined and inspired, Dougal KEMP is always seeking new challenges and meaningful collaborations. He believes that every project deserves thoughtful attention and a tailored approach.

My studio is a creativity haven, where I immerse myself in exploring unique sounds and crafting rich textures. Here, I dive into creating hybrid soundtracks with a blend of acoustic instruments, analog synths, and electronic effects.

Fully equipped for both creation and sound engineering, I handle everything from composition to mixing and mastering, ensuring complete control over the whole process. It’s also a space where I invite collaborators—directors, producers, and musicians—to foster warm connections and fine-tune our work together in a serene environment.

Let’s create something exceptional!
